Terms of Service

IBAC may provide free and paid educational services, including IB Mathematics and Physics tutoring; one-to-one tutoring; small-group revision courses; exam-preparation courses and bootcamps; lecture notes and study guides; question banks and independently authored practice questions; worked solutions and explanations; past-paper indexes and study tools; IA guidance; SAT preparation; student progress and account features; AI-assisted learning features; and other educational resources introduced from time to time.

The availability, content, access tier, schedule, price, and features of a service may change. Any material change affecting a paid service already purchased will be handled in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

IBAC does not impose a general minimum age for browsing or using educational resources. However, users under 18 may have limited legal capacity under applicable law.

If you are under 18, you must obtain the consent of a parent, guardian, or other legally authorized representative before creating a paid subscription, making a one-time purchase, booking tutoring or a course, agreeing to recurring charges, or entering into another legally binding transaction through IBAC.

A parent or guardian who permits a minor to use or purchase IBAC services is responsible for supervising that use and for charges validly authorized by that parent or guardian. IBAC may request reasonable evidence of authorization where appropriate.

Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate and current account information and to keep your login credentials secure.

Each account is for one individual only. Accounts, subscriptions, paid access, and login credentials may not be shared, sold, transferred, rented, sublicensed, reassigned, or used by multiple students as a group account. We may use reasonable technical measures to identify unusual or abusive account activity.

IBAC may offer public, free-account, and paid or “Pro” access. Access to content is licensed, not sold.

Subject to these Terms, IBAC grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access materials made available to your account for your own educational and non-commercial use. Access to particular questions, solutions, subjects, courses, databases, or features may depend on your access tier.

Prices are stated in United States Dollars (USD) unless expressly stated otherwise. IBAC currently uses Stripe to process payments.

Monthly subscriptions automatically renew each month until cancelled. By purchasing a monthly subscription, you authorize the recurring charge disclosed at checkout. You may cancel future renewals through any cancellation feature made available to you or by contacting IBAC support. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically reverse charges already made, except under the refund rights below or as required by law.

One-time purchases are charged once at the price shown at checkout. If payment fails, IBAC may suspend paid access until payment is resolved and may retry a failed recurring payment where permitted.

Material automatic-renewal terms should also be presented clearly during checkout; these Terms are not intended to be the only renewal disclosure.

IBAC offers a baseline 7-calendar-day refund policy, without limiting any stronger non-waivable rights under applicable law.

Digital memberships and digital purchases. You may request a refund within 7 calendar days after an initial subscription purchase, a recurring monthly subscription charge, or an eligible one-time digital purchase. If a refund is approved, access to the refunded paid content or subscription period may end immediately.

Live tutoring, revision courses and bootcamps. A 7-day refund request may also be made after purchase of a live educational service. If live instruction has already been delivered, IBAC may, to the extent permitted by law, deduct or retain the reasonable value of services already provided.

Refund requests should be sent through Customer Support or to contact@ib-academic-center.com. Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method.

Unless different terms were clearly agreed when the session was booked:

• 24 hours or more before the scheduled start: you may cancel or request a reschedule without a cancellation fee.
• Less than 24 hours before the scheduled start: the session may be treated as used and non-refundable, although IBAC may permit a reschedule for a genuine emergency or exceptional circumstance.
• No-show: the session may be treated as used and non-refundable.
• Tutor cancellation: if IBAC or the tutor cancels and cannot provide a mutually acceptable replacement time, you will receive a refund or credit for the affected session.

Repeated late cancellations may result in limits on future bookings.

The timetable, subject, level, instructor, delivery method, included materials, and price will be described when enrollment is offered. Places may be limited and are confirmed only after any required payment is successfully completed.

The general 7-day refund policy applies, subject to applicable law. If part of a course has already been delivered, a refund may be reduced by the reasonable value of services already received where permitted by law. If IBAC cancels an entire course, you will receive a refund of the amount paid for that cancelled course. If an individual session is cancelled by IBAC, we may reschedule it or provide an appropriate credit or refund.

IBAC provides education, tutoring, explanation, feedback, and academic guidance. We do not promise to complete assessed work on a student’s behalf.

You remain responsible for producing your own original schoolwork, following your school’s academic-integrity rules, complying with applicable IB and examination-board requirements, properly citing sources, checking whether outside assistance or AI tools are permitted, and making all final decisions about what you submit for assessment.

For IA or other assessed work, IBAC may discuss concepts, methodology, structure, mathematics, analysis, presentation, or feedback, but the student must remain the author of the submitted work. IBAC may refuse assistance that would amount to impersonation, contract cheating, prohibited exam assistance, or other academic misconduct.

IBAC may provide AI-assisted educational features. AI-generated or AI-assisted responses may be incomplete, incorrect, misleading, or unsuitable for a particular course requirement and should be independently checked.

Do not treat AI output as an official IB markscheme, authoritative academic or professional advice, a guaranteed correct solution, or a substitute for your own judgment. Do not submit highly sensitive personal information through AI features unless the feature expressly requires it and you understand how it will be handled. Use of AI features may involve third-party technical providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

You may be able to submit questions, reviews, comments, messages, IA drafts, images, files, or other materials (“User Submissions”). You retain ownership of intellectual property that you lawfully own in those submissions.

You grant IBAC a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display User Submissions only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, communicate with you, provide tutoring or support, operate security and backup systems, and comply with law.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit the material. Do not upload unlawful, malicious, defamatory, privacy-invasive, infringing, or prohibited material.

Except for third-party material and content expressly identified otherwise, the website and IBAC-created materials are owned by or licensed to IBAC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

IBAC-created content may include independently authored practice questions and clones, worked solutions, explanations, lecture notes, diagrams, graphics, classifications, metadata, database organization, videos, course materials, original mock examinations, software, code, and original interface elements.

Unless IBAC gives express written permission, you may not reproduce or republish substantial portions of IBAC content; distribute paid content; sell, license, rent, or commercially exploit IBAC content; publicly post paid solutions; create a competing database from IBAC materials; systematically download or archive IBAC content; remove proprietary notices; or create derivative commercial products from IBAC content. Reasonable personal study notes are permitted.

IB Academic Center is an independent educational service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by the International Baccalaureate Organization.

“International Baccalaureate,” “IB,” and associated names and marks belong to their respective rights holders. Official IB examination papers, markschemes, syllabi, logos, and other official materials remain the property of their respective rights holders. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of official IB material to IBAC or to you.

IBAC’s independently authored explanations, solutions, annotations, classifications, practice questions, and other original educational content remain separate from official IB material.

IBAC does not guarantee that a particular official examination paper or third-party document will be publicly hosted on the IBAC website.

Where users contact IBAC about a past paper, IBAC may, where appropriate and lawful, provide information about how a document can be accessed or direct the user to material hosted through a third-party service such as Google Drive.

Any official or third-party material remains subject to the rights of its owner. A link, reference, index, or access mechanism does not transfer copyright or grant permission to reproduce, republish, distribute, or commercially exploit the underlying document. Availability may be changed or withdrawn at any time.

You must not use IBAC, the website, an account, or IBAC content to violate law or another person’s rights; share or sell account access; bypass paywalls or access controls; scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically extract content; use bots or automation to bulk retrieve content; populate another question bank or database with IBAC content; train, fine-tune, evaluate, populate, or build another machine-learning or generative-AI system using IBAC content without written permission; reverse engineer or interfere with website security except where a restriction is prohibited by law; upload malware; overload or attack connected systems; impersonate another person; harvest personal information; engage in harassment, fraud, spam, or deception; upload material you do not have the right to provide; facilitate academic misconduct; or use the services for an unlawful commercial purpose.

IBAC relies on or links to third-party services that may include Squarespace, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Google Drive, Google Sign-In and other Google services, LINE, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and other infrastructure, communications, authentication, payment, analytics, or educational providers.

Your use of a third-party service may also be governed by that provider’s terms and privacy practices. IBAC is not responsible for independent third-party services to the extent their conduct is outside IBAC’s control, subject always to responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

Our collection, processing, storage, and use of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy.

Where applicable, users may exercise rights concerning their personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection law and the Privacy Policy.

IBAC content is provided for educational purposes. Nothing on the website is legal, medical, financial, psychological, or other regulated professional advice.

Educational resources are not a substitute for your school’s official instructions, current syllabus, teacher guidance, examination-board rules, or official assessment requirements.

IBAC seeks to provide accurate and useful educational content. Nevertheless, errors, omissions, outdated information, typographical mistakes, software errors, and differences in interpretation may occur. IBAC may correct or update content when errors are identified.

IBAC does not guarantee any particular IB grade, SAT score, school or university admission, scholarship, improvement by a particular amount, error-free question bank, correct exam prediction, or other academic outcome. Results depend on many factors outside IBAC’s control.

We aim to keep the website and paid services reasonably available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, hosting failures, internet outages, security incidents, software changes, third-party interruptions, or events outside our reasonable control may affect availability.

We may improve, replace, reorganize, or discontinue free features. If a material change substantially affects a paid service already purchased, we will take reasonable steps to provide an appropriate remedy consistent with applicable law, which may include continued access, a substitute service, credit, or refund.

IBAC may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, account sharing, fraud, scraping, automated extraction, security risks, material breach of these Terms, unlawful activity, intellectual-property infringement, harassment or abuse, or conduct that materially harms the website or other users.

Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to address the issue unless immediate action is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protection of others.

The website may contain links to external websites and services for convenience, communication, payment, educational reference, or access to third-party services. A link does not necessarily mean IBAC endorses all content or practices of the external service. You should review the terms and privacy policies of third-party services you use.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IBAC services are provided on an “as available” basis. IBAC does not make warranties that may lawfully be excluded concerning uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy, fitness for a particular academic objective, or freedom from all software defects.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, guarantee, consumer right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IBAC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential loss arising solely from use of or inability to use the website or services where such liability may lawfully be excluded.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, nothing in these Terms limits that liability below the minimum level required by law. Where a remedy may lawfully be limited, IBAC’s liability relating to a paid service may be limited to appropriate re-performance, equivalent access or credit, or refund of the amount paid for the affected service.

This section does not exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, personal injury caused by legally actionable conduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for reasonably foreseeable losses, claims, or costs caused by your unlawful conduct, infringement of another person’s rights, misuse of IBAC content, or material breach of these Terms.

This section does not require a consumer to indemnify IBAC for losses caused by IBAC’s own unlawful conduct, negligence where liability cannot be excluded, or matters for which such an obligation would be prohibited or unfair under applicable law.

IBAC may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, website functionality, payment methods, services, access tiers, security practices, or business operations. The current version will be posted on the website with an updated “Last updated” date.

If a change materially affects an existing paid subscription or materially reduces a user’s contractual rights, IBAC will provide reasonable notice and, where required by law, obtain additional consent before the change applies.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Taiwan (Republic of China), without excluding mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of any non-waivable right, remedy, cooling-off period, jurisdictional protection, or dispute-resolution mechanism available under applicable law.

The parties should first attempt in good faith to resolve a dispute by contacting contact@ib-academic-center.com or through Customer Support. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be submitted to the competent courts or consumer-dispute mechanisms in accordance with applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

A failure or delay by IBAC to enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, pricing and renewal disclosures shown at checkout, and any specific written terms presented for a particular tutoring engagement, course, or purchase form the agreement governing the applicable service.

If individually agreed written terms for a particular service conflict with these general Terms, the individually agreed terms control for that service to the extent permitted by law.
